LILACS
LILACS
Austin Corona - the musician behind LILACS - was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA. Having an excessive history of playing in numerous bands such as Model/Actriz, Dazey and the Scouts, Flamingo Club, and high school band SUBPAR, there are many different influences you can hear in LILACS' arsenal. In the early stages of Corona's music career, he primarily played in garage rock/ surf rock west coast groups. In 2013, his band SUBPAR played at the music festival 'BURGERAMA' two years in a row in Orange Country at the Observatory, where they gained a steady fan base. As time went on and college years came, the band parted ways and he planned to keep writing up a storm for the next couple years. However, being primarily a drummer for most of his college groups, finding time to sit down and write was difficult and at times he felt uninspired to create anything new and or groundbreaking. It wasn't until a three month study abroad program in Spain 2017 where he finally found the sound he had been striving to make. "Being in a new environment, not knowing the language and missing someone you love dearly will really make you stop and think about your surroundings, I was more depressed than I should've been. Sometimes you have to go through a steady period of sadness to really see how good you have it." says Corona. With this new evolved sound, LILACS is bringing in a west coast wavvy sound blended with groovy bass lines, distorted vocals, and eery top lines that would fit the setting of a solemn morning on the porch with a nicely rolled spliff. Similarly contrasted with HOMESHAKE meets Tame Impala meets loft hip-hop vibe.

Jared Solomon (under the name Solomonophonic) makes songs, beats, and plays the guitar. He is from the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as spending time in the cities of Cleveland, OH and Brooklyn, NY. Developing fanbases where ever he goes, Solomonophonic creates a fun enviroment for his live shows by including stand-up comedy, stage antics, and crowd interaction.

Musical influences include learning Led Zeppelin songs at an early age, to then to studying the jazz and jam influences of Phish, John Scofield, and Grateful Dead in high school on guitar. Songwriting was introduced to his influence when his family handed down a 1950’s Gibson acoustic guitar at the beginning of high school. Seeing Neil Young’s Bridge School Concerts at Shoreline Ampitheatre around the tender age of fifteen set off a spark into song writing fuel. Beck, Modest Mouse, Spoon, Dr. Dog, Ween and Sublime were the reciepe for songwriting in Solomon’s eyes.

Solomon entered Berklee College of Music after high school, and gained infleunce from jazz fusion, psychedelic music, and hip-hop. J Dilla, Mac DeMarco, Hiatus Kaiyote, Animal Collective, Madlib, The Beach Boys, Vulfpeck, Mndsgn, Tyler, The Creator, Flying Lotus became important idols in sound and artitist direction. Solomon dropped out of music school to persue a career in producing his own music.
