Artist born and raised in Oakland, California, Erik has resided in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), Spain since 2002. The artist's current projects consist of the Erik La Chapelle Trio, a hard rock formation with an eclectic range of sounds, and SouLift, which plays a fusion of soul, reggae and gospel. In an acoustic format the artist explore a more intimate world of music highly influenced by musicians such as Jeff Buckley, Eddie Vedder or Ben Harper. Erik currently has 2 CDs out: solo project "Erik La Chapelle & 3 Guitars" (2010) produced by Delirios Babilónicos Productions, and self-produced "Tabula Rasa" (2013) from the Unknown Artists project with bassist Steve Kynoch, which began in early 2011. A new record is due out next year. Live performances for the artist have been a constant activity over the last decade, with shows in bars, clubs, theaters, and music festivals in the U.S. and Europe; and the show at the Hotel Utah in San Francisco is always a special one, now an annual event during the holiday season.
