Jimbo Scott and the Hot Mess
Jimbo Scott and the Hot Mess
Jimbo Scott and the Hot Mess bring a carefully crafted and soulful brand of rock music. With influences ranging from Smashing Pumpkins to Paul Simon to Stevie Wonder, this group's sound demands your attention. Born in Memphis and raised in Oakland, frontman Jimbo Scott uses that background to guide his creative process and showcase his music which is derived from rock n roll, country, soul, grunge, jazz and funk. Wild melodies and vivid lyrics are framed by the powerful dueling guitar tones, screaming keys, low-bottom rockin bass, dynamic rhythm from the drums and carefully crafted vocal harmonies. If you love vocally driven rocknroll then Jimbo Scott and the Hot Mess is the band for you.
Glimpse Trio
Glimpse Trio
Consisting of three of the most intense, musically diverse, and improvisationally savvy musicians of their era, the Glimpse Trio (formerly known as MCR) "extreme jam band" has been described by L.A. Weekly as "Oakland's dark kings of avant-metal colossalness." Captivating and all-out riveting, GT strives to spontaneously create engaging music that approaches the unknown and borders on the psychedelic.
Grover Anderson
Grover Anderson
Once challenged to create a mission statement, Grover Anderson declared that his goal is to celebrate life through emotion. Raised in the historic mountain town of Murphys, CA, Grover cut his teeth playing the bars of Santa Barbara and now makes his home in the Bay Area. His albums tread the border between folk storytelling and pop/rock, and his live shows are high-energy affairs inspired by Garth Brooks, John Fogerty, and Josh Ritter.
