“Theres something really magical about when we’re writing and creating songs together.” Alex says “Because we’re so similar in our thought process...what can start with a simple few notes or lyrics from one, can be finished by the other.”

It was early 2016 when Cousins John and Alex, after many years of both being involved in music separately decided on a whim one night to record a song together. They surprised themselves with how well it turned out. “We had always appreciated each others music, but never thought to experiment together.” John states.
What started out as fun night jamming together, led to Cousin the Band. John Luzzi has been a guitarist in Seattle for many years and toured with the likes of Scott Weiland and Candlebox, recently touring extensively throughout the US and Europe with The Band Miggs. Alexandra has been doing festivals and Jazz shows in the San Francisco Bay Area.

With Johns Rock roots and Alexandra’s Jazz background it's lended to a unique sound for their debut EP. Produced by Former Bandmate Don Miggs in Los Angeles, California, their sound evokes hints of 70s folk rock, with blues vibes and catchy choruses. Bringing together the sounds of the Pacific Northwest and San Francisco for what they call "West Coast Rock."

Sarah Summer
Sarah Summer
Sarah Summer is an independent songwriter/folk artist who was born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina.

She spent the past two years traveling from East to West, living out of hotels, making music in juke joints & playing with fire before settling in the desert outside of Phoenix, Arizona.

While passing through California, she met and began collaborating with instrumentalist Sam Smetana. Before long, the two were recording an EP together via snail mail. Summer found herself recording songs in California, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. "I would spend the day locked in the bathroom, lights out, tracking with my guitar and a string of Christmas lights to set the mood," she says. "I'd load the files to a flash drive and drop it off at the post office with a note to Sam, and in a few weeks time, he'd return the favor. We kept at it until we came up with something we could both be proud of. "

Since Be Yourself was released in August 2017, the duo have been playing shows up and down the West Coast.
