The Darkside
The Darkside
The Darkside are the Bay Area’s leading band for edgy, first-wave modern rock. Come relive the guitar-driven sounds inspired by The Cure and The Smiths, the goth-pop of Depeche Mode and New Order, the new wave jangle of early R.E.M. and Talking Heads, and even the occasional alt-gem from pioneering acts like The Church, Echo & The Bunnymen, The The and The Smithereens. Expect surprising takes on post-punk classics, as well as a few eccentric touches (Spanish freestyle rap vocals over “West End Girls”, anyone?). The Darkside have made a name for themselves playing locally at venues like Bottom of the Hill, The Bistro, and Red House as well as co-headlining festivals like the Lafayette Food & Wine Festival and SF Porchfest.
Sweet Hands Band (closing set)
Sweet Hands Band (closing set)
Sweet Hands Band rocks your favorite high energy songs spanning from the Rolling Stones and Pat Benatar though today’s hits from Grace Potter, and the Black Keys. Originally east coast natives hailing from Philadelphia, New Jersey and Maryland (plus a guitar-shredding Swede on lead guitar) these transplants are emerging as one of the Bay Area’s must-see bands.
Definitely Maybe
Definitely Maybe
Definitely Maybe finds its inspiration in the deep-seeded alternative rock music scene of the 1990's. Their influences span from the frank lyrics of Oasis, Pearl Jam and the Foo Fighters, through the melancholy undertones of The Toadies and Cake. Their experimental revisits have also included a taste of riffs and hooks from the classic guitar rock of the 70's and 80's.
