Chris Price
CHRIS PRICE has released two solo albums to date, the critically acclaimed Homesick in 2012, and most recently STOP TALKING, released May 19th, 2017 through Omnivore Recordings. Both albums serve as a calling card for Price's ingenuity and creativity in the recording studio, and as a showcase for his wry, cutting songwriting in the vein of classic tunesmiths like Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, and Ray Davies of The Kinks. Price also lays claim to having produced “comeback” albums for a few ’70s cult figures, including the first album in 44 years for psych folk artist Linda Perhacs, 2014’s The Soul of All Natural Things; and 2016’s critically acclaimed Rainbow Ends by power pop icon Emitt Rhodes, his first album since 1973. In addition to his work as a solo artist and producer, Price spends time writing and performing in the new group Bebopalula, which is currently recording a new album, and writing songs with many respected artists from the pop/rock world including Roger Joseph Manning Jr (Jellyfish), Taylor Locke (Rooney), Mike Viola (That Thing You Do!) and Bleu. The Flusters (closing set)
Hailing from Southern California's Coachella Valley, an area known for its signature "Desert Rock" sound, The Flusters nostalgically bring a sound to the indie genre which they've self-titled as "Dreamsurf." Blending vintage tones with washy effects and driving tempos, they have been called to create something important together, and they are answering that call with everything they've got. Within their first two years as an act, The Flusters were invited to play major music festivals such as Coachella Music Festival and Echo Park Rising. Influenced by Roy Orbison, Dick Dale, The Beach Boys, The Pixies, The Smiths, The Ventures, Broadcast & Mazzy Star, they have a unique "Retro Pop" sound that sets them apart. With the release of their new album the band has set the pace for this year which includes multiple tours, festival appearances and more.
