Ray Vaughn
Ray Vaughn
Ray Vaughn’s newest album may be called “Wounded Bird”, but he’s really more of a phoenix rising from the ashes of a forgotten San Francisco. He founded Punk/Art Rock band Hostages in 1979, and later Die Bossanova in 1984, leaving his mark on the then-thriving SF scene until disappearing from the public eye in 1992. Now, over 20 years later, Ray has returned as someone tempered by time and experience--with new stories to tell.
Karney (closing set)
Karney (closing set)
Throughout her career, Karney has blended musical influences ranging from punk, to Salsa, to the flower-powered music and politics of her hometown, San Francisco. In addition to this blend of influences, she also enjoys direct cross-pollination with many artists. She frequently works with PSM Recordings founder Steffen Franz, who co-produced her single “My Little Bush” in 2003, and who often tours with Karney providing dancehall style DJ toasts during live performances. That particular single also benefitted from the studio talents of legendary Reggae producer and solo artist Dennis Bovell (founding member of Matumbi) and engineering by Bill Ortiz, founder of Babyfat Music and trumpet player for Santana, and The Karney Band. Karney’s second full-length album “All Connected” was released in 2004 to wide media acclaim.

Air For Ants
Once a solo experimental electronic project in 2010, Air For Ants is now regarded by 11 time Grammy winner Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds as a band with "cool songs". Upon hearing the 2015 album We Think It Was Raised by Wolves, Coldplay Producer Ken Nelson stated that front man Dominic Sahagun "has a fantastic voice." A documentary, Do I Hear a Dollar, will be released next year about the making of the 2017 album Once Again with Feeling.
