Sunset Republic
Sunset Republic
Sunset Republic is finally emerging from its self-imposed practice space exile. The group is dropping its debut album in the spring of 2017, produced by sound engineer Chris Haynes, who has previously worked on songs by Foo Fighters, Grandmaster Flash, and Norah Jones, amongst others. The album is a labor of love for Wakai, who has written the tracks for the past 10 years with Andy Chapman, the band’s longtime bassist, co-founder, and friend. Chapman is the yin to Wakai’s yang; the two couldn’t be more different in terms of both temperament and playing style. The duo have written songs in their South of Market Area (SOMA) studio, which Tracy calls his church, a sanctuary of self-confession where he bares his soul singing about being in and out of love as well as struggling to live in the great but changing city of San Francisco.
Decision Height
Based in Oakland, CA, Decision Height features the original song-writing of Jon Andrews (“JSA”), accompanied by Brian Belardi (Drums) & Joel Strait (Bass). The band will bring to life on the stage songs from Jon’s forthcoming debut album, “Talkstory”. This show will mark the first time the band has performed over the bridge in San Francisco. The soon-to-be-released “Talkstory” features 10 dynamic original songs primarily recorded and mixed by Scott McChane at Sharkbite Studio in historic Jack London Square (Oakland) over the last 18 months. Currently, Jon is working with engineer Chris Hughes to wrap up post-production in advance of the official release.

First single “Warm Regards” is available for streaming on the band’s Soundcloud page (accessible via Facebook). Steeped in equal parts of 90’s grunge, 70’s psychedelia and singer-songwriter folk, the single displays the depth and charisma of the band in a compact 3 minutes.
