Joel Streeter has been hailed as "one of pop's best kept secrets", as "a true pop talent", as "an indispensible songwriting talent", and as an "avowed melody junkie" drawing comparisons to Paul McCartney, Elliott Smith, Neil Finn, XTC and Wilco among others. Matador, his most recent album, was described as "a classic sounding pop album full of bounce, melodic arch, and lyrical substance" and as "introspective and connective, deep and bright, ambitious and comforting." The Joel Streeter Band is known for their high-energy shows and features Bay Area all-stars Jim Bogios (of Counting Crows) on drums, Jerry Becker (of Train) on bass, Max Delaney on electric guitar and Jeff Symonds on keyboards.

Painbirds (Charlie Colin and Tom Luce)
In 2007 Tom Luce (Luce band, Good Day) ran into Charles Colin (founding member of Train) in the halls of San Francisco’s Hyde Street Studios. There was instant chemistry both musically and personally, and in 2015 they formed the Painbirds. In 2016, after various configurations, Tom and Charlie added the PawnShop kings (2014 Rolling Stone put them on your “10 Artists You Need to Know” list) and veteran Bay area bandleader/fiddler Dick Bright to the lineup. Fresh off their recent success at the Sundance Film Festival, the Painbirds bring their unique sound to the Hotel Utah Saturday, March 18. They will be sharing the stage with the Joel Streeter Band.
